PlaybackSpeed Support

PlaybackSpeed is a Safari extension for per-site media playback speed, auto-skip timestamps, and quick media actions.

Setup

macOS:

  1. Install PlaybackSpeed.
  2. Open Safari.
  3. Go to Safari Settings -> Extensions.
  4. Enable PlaybackSpeed Extension.

iPhone and iPad:

  1. Install PlaybackSpeed.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Go to Safari -> Extensions.
  4. Enable PlaybackSpeed Extension.

Basic Use

  1. Open a website with video or audio in Safari.
  2. Open the PlaybackSpeed extension popup.
  3. Enable the current site.
  4. Choose a speed, auto-skip value, or quick media action.
  5. Save the rule.

Rules are stored locally on your device.

Troubleshooting

If playback speed does not change, confirm that the extension is enabled for the current website in Safari and that a rule is enabled for that site.

Next and previous actions are best-effort because websites expose media controls differently. Playback speed and seek actions work with standard HTML5 video and audio elements.
